Hello! Last week we headed down to Jeans's house for our first learning session and we've learnt the art of making the ice cream mixture from the boss of Swirl. Though there were many steps involved (measuring, weighing, whisking, cutting the various ingredients), we enjoyed ourselves greatly during the process. Even though the "ice cream" turned out a little slushy at the end (because we didn't know we had to freeze the freezing disk beforehand!), it was quite an eye opener and good practise for the learning workshop ahead!

Here are some photographs from the day!

The ice cream machine.

Taking instructions.

Jean cutting the chocolate.

Melting the chocolate.

Terena stiring the mixture to ensure chocolate melts properly.

"It was really fun. I've learned that there is no need to follow exact measurements, but you can change it to suit your taste. Freshness of the ingredients are extremely important too!"
-Terena

Adding milk to melted chocolate.

Cutting the bananas to equal sizes!

Whisking the couflour mixture which acts as a thickener.

Terena squeezing the orange.

Victoria whisking the orange juice.

Making ice cream base.

Combining the mixtures.

Completed ice cream mixture.

Brought to you by:

Victoria, Terena, Audrey, Jean.
